Instructions / requirements for obtaining MOC Part 2 credit from Pediatric UPDATE

36 Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment (Part 2) points for the American Board of Pediatrics Maintenance and Certification program may be obtained for Volume 38 by

  • completing all 12 Pediatric Update modules (July 2017-June 2018)
  • submitting test answers
  • achieving a passing score of at least 75% on all modules and
  • providing participants date of birth (MM/DD) and ABP ID number

By providing your date of birth and ABP ID number, you are granting permission for your identifying information and activity completion data to be shared with the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) through the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS).

All 12 modules must be completed by the end of October 2018 in order for credits to be reported to the American Board of Pediatrics for the 2018 calendar year. Those who complete the 12 modules after October 2018 will be able to claim credits in 2019.

Note that it is not possible to receive partial credit for completing fewer than 12 modules.

In order to accrue AMA Category 1 credits, you would need to participate in the testing phase of the UPDATE series. Simply answer the 12 multiple-choice questions that appear on the last page of the printed transcript. For convenience, you can login and enter your test answers online (see instructions below), or you can fill in your answers on your personalized post-test response form (No special pen or pencil is required). Slip the form into the preaddressed envelope and mail. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
